Mindfulness

Mindfulness is defined as being conscious or aware of the present moment, without judgment. I like to think of it as noticing, allowing, accepting, and embracing the here and now, without trying to change or fix anything. We can be mindful of our breath, thoughts, emotions, body sensations, intentions, intuition, and behavior, as well as our sensory experience of our environment. Achieving a mindfulness mindset can be challenging at first, especially when we’re so used to living our life with a mindset that frequently, and often automatically, goes outside of our present moment (i.e. thinking a lot about the past, or worrying about the future). In our work together (whether you choose therapy, coaching, or a combination of both), I will teach you skills to help you redirect your focus to the present with nonjudgmental awareness. I will then teach you how to shift into self compassion and a deeper sense of empowerment so that you can learn how to intentionally, calmly respond to disappointment or unexpected/unwanted life circumstances with confidence and self trust.
